What we are trying to do
Tax news is often easy to announce and hard to use. TaxWaypoint starts with the source document, identifies the date and population that matter, and then asks what the rule changes in practice.
The site is intentionally small. Rather than trying to cover every tax headline, it concentrates on developments that change a filing decision, payment, timing choice, state-tax result or planning question.
An AI-assisted newsroom
TaxWaypoint uses AI throughout its editorial workflow — from monitoring sources and drafting explainers to red-team review and content maintenance. The objective is to test how far a tightly governed AI-assisted publication can go while keeping technical claims traceable to primary authority.
AI output is not treated as authority. Material rules, thresholds, dates and examples are checked against primary sources before publication.
What we do not do
TaxWaypoint does not prepare tax returns, represent taxpayers, sell tax advice or provide individualized legal, tax or accounting services. The site provides general educational information.
